Lesiolo Hills Hotel

The ambience was lovely, and the food and service were great. I was here in 2024, and there’s been a huge improvement. The mbuzi choma was really soft, and I had it with managu and ugali. It’s a little pricier, but worth it.

The two rooftop areas have lovely views over hills, trees, and farmland. The place also has private spaces, alcohol, affordable prices, and a kids’ play area with plenty of facilities, so it works well for families. There’s a heated pool that’s nearly finished, plus accommodation from Ksh 3,000 a night for a single-bed studio. The building looks modern and decent, though there’s a lot of concrete from the gate onward. It’s easy to reach at Kona Baridi on Magadi Rd, a few minutes past Kiserian toward Magadi, and hard to miss. The surroundings are green, with strong winds from ngong hills, where many people go hiking. From Kiserian, a probox ride costs Ksh 50, or a motorbike is at most Ksh 150.

The grounds are lovely, and we had a very enjoyable dinner. I’m not Kenyan, but I’ve tried goat meat at plenty of restaurants around Kenya, and this was by far the juiciest, most tender, and most wonderful I’ve been served. It was fabulous, and I love meat. Service was excellent too. We wanted more Novida, but they only had one bottle. We’d absolutely come back if we’re in that area again, and I highly recommend it.
