Parkview Safari Hotel and Apartments

The rooms upstairs have a nice view of the lake and park, and the hotel has its own entrance to the park with a guide, which worked really well. There’s a small bar, a decent restaurant, and a lovely pool with grounds that could be fun for kids or a family outing. It’s affordable and good for a short stay. I’d feel comfortable bringing a parent here, too.

I wouldn’t recommend this place. There was no hot water or toilet paper in my bathroom, and when we told the staff, they denied it and called the water “warm” instead of doing anything. The AC didn’t work either. The restaurant wasn’t much better, with rats in the roof and kittens jumping all over the dining tables.

The restaurant staff were welcoming and nice, and the food was sweet. The staff overall were amazing, and it’s a nice place, but the service needs work. There was no water for a morning shower, and nobody gave a plausible explanation or even apologized. WiFi should be stronger, and you can’t pay with Visa or use an Mpesa till number.

I’d only suggest this place to someone who really needs a room. Rain had come in through the window, leaving the room I got wet, and the room, wardrobe, and dusty mosquito nets all need attention. The hot water was poor too. The manager said it was warm, but it wasn’t. I wouldn’t stay here again.
