The balcony was a favorite spot, whether watching the sunrise spread across the huge valley or looking at the stars at night. There’s also a trail down to the lower part of the property, a lovely walk with a pretty strenuous climb back. On a hot afternoon, the pool is fun, though trying it in the morning takes real bravery. Getting there is an adventure in itself: around 30 km of bumpy, uneven road with some rocky stretches, so an SUV is definitely advisable. Once you arrive at Saab Royale, the discomfort fades quickly. The scenery is stunning, with wind turbines across the landscape and a magnificent valley in front of the cottages. The cottages look like something from a storybook, a bit like the toadstool houses in Enid Blyton’s tales, but inside they’re modern, beautifully designed, spotless and pleasantly fragrant all day. The living room and bedroom are spacious, cozy and thoughtfully arranged. There’s a fireplace for the cold, windy evenings. There’s no TV, which fits a place meant for disconnecting and taking in nature. It’s a fantastic escape from city noise and pace, somewhere to relax and rejuvenate.

The rooms are spacious, the pool is clean, and the food is nice. Staff were polite and the service was good. The only downside is the very rough access road from Kajiado town. Most cars can make it, but slowly, and the drive could take about 2 hrs depending on the car. Even with that, the stay was amazing and worth it. There’s no TV in the rooms, though.

I went for dinner and the food was the best. It has a peaceful, almost meditative feel. I'd suggest going for lunch or staying over. The property is very well maintained, though it's more expensive than average market rates.

The rough road is manageable in any car with standard ground clearance, and the scenery and quiet made this a great break from the city. We enjoyed the nature trail and all the birds on the property. We had a great experience this weekend, from the warm welcome by Joel to the well-kept rooms and restaurant service from Mark. It's a lovely hidden escape, and we loved it!

It's a little way from the main road along a rough stretch, but the resort has a peaceful setting, superb views and impeccable food. The customer service was great too.
