It’s a fairly nice place, and the price is affordable. I didn’t have time to try the other amenities.

The staff are really friendly, and it has the usual things you’d expect from a hotel rather than a B&B. For what it offers, though, I found it a little pricey.

The staff were great throughout my stay, and reception was always ready to help with anything I asked. The facilities and service were good, but the room fell short of what I expected, even though I’d booked an executive room. The bathroom was dirty and musty, with no place to hang things. The windows had to stay open for ventilation, which let mosquitoes into the bathroom. When I arrived, there was just one dusty towel folded into a swan. They brought me one more, but that was still only two. There was also just one power socket in the room, hidden behind the bed, so I had to move the bed toward the window to reach it. With a bit of a facelift, better cleaning, and clean items and towels, this could be a great hotel.

The staff were kind and pleasant to talk with, and the garden is lush and green, with space for events or games like badminton. Still, Great Turk Reef- Lodwar didn’t meet our expectations. The pool water was stagnant, wasn’t circulating, and didn’t look very clean. At the dining area, flies were everywhere, inside and out, with no way to keep them away while eating. Breakfast had a good range, though it could be better. The other meals were tasty and generous, especially the mbuzi wet dry, fish fillet, and tilapia fish. In the rooms, power outages kept leaving us without AC and turned them into furnaces. We opened the windows at night for a breeze, risking mosquitoes coming in. One night we spent time in the garden just to make the night in the hot room feel shorter. The AC units were also very noisy. Management really needs to work on the hotel.

I like Great Turk Reef Hotel, and the hotel and its services are generally good. The ACs in the older rooms need servicing or replacement because they’re too noisy, and some leak. I’d recommend it to anyone.
