We found the last executive room at Small World Country Club in Athi River after checking several hotels around Athi River. We’d booked late, hoping to celebrate my wife’s birthday with a staycation. The setting was lovely for photos, with trees, flowers, and a coastal theme. We especially enjoyed the live band on Friday from 5-8pm. The pool and its sitting area were great for sunrise and afternoon drinks. Our executive room was clean, comfortable, and classy, and the meals were excellent. Prices felt fair compared with the other hotels we’d visited, which cost more but offered less. The staff were friendly, polite, and welcoming. There was also a nice fireplace, though we were too tired to enjoy it that night. The room internet wasn’t working that night. Since the TVs only have YouTube, we couldn’t watch TV either. More games and activities for kids would be a welcome addition. We took some photos and a video below.

The afternoons at the pool bar, with well-made cocktails, flowers, trees, and such a lovely atmosphere, were a highlight. The food was top-tier, and the spa massages helped us unwind. My husband and I are still so happy about our stay at Small World Country Club. It was easily the best staycation we’ve ever had. From the moment we arrived, the quiet, peaceful setting felt like another world. The 'White House' is stunning, and the rooms are exquisite. The thoughtful welcome decor made us feel special right away. The staff are amazing and really make the experience. We’re so glad we chose Small World for our getaway, and we’ll be back!

We took the family for Sunday lunch and a swim, but left without eating. Most of the things we wanted weren’t available when we scanned the menu, and they said potatoes could only be served as chips. The waiter even advised us against ordering the crispy drumstick. Our drinks took almost forty minutes to arrive. They can definitely do better.

Our room was very spacious and clean. We spent one night at Small World as an overnight stop on our trip from western to eastern Kenya. Dinner and breakfast were tasty, with enough choices. The location was great for getting around, but the noise was horrible. If you can filter out the noise from Mombasa Rd, the hotel is fantastic.

We had a wonderful pre-Christmas mother-and-daughter holiday there. The kids are welcome, the food is delicious, and the Deluxe rooms are absolutely beautiful.
