The Last Village Lodge

We went on a weekday, so it was calmer, and there was lots to do for a reasonable price. I went with my family of six, eight of us in total. Quad biking and the zipline were my favourites, and the swimming pool was lovely too. The staff were patient and hospitable. The mbuzi was especially yummy. I’ll come back.

The pool was my favourite spot, so inviting I just wanted to dive in. There’s zip lining too, and the juniors can play ball, pool games, or internet games while you sit by the pool and order. The place is so big you may need some guidance to choose where to go. Your service person stays with you until you’re ready to leave and your entry ticket is signed. It’s a serene escape from the rush of daily life, and you may not want to leave. The Last Village sits on the open plain among scattered households, roughly between Athi River, Mombasa Road, and Joska on Kangundo Road. From Kangundo Road, there’s about 10km of rough road, just estimating from the drive. From Mombasa Road, follow the newly tarred road from Kitengela Junction or Devik. It’s well out of the way in either direction, so you have to make a point of going there. Like me, you’ll probably want to return before long.

The living spaces are beautiful and make you feel relaxed, with a bit of thrill too. Service feels personal, like every need is taken care of, and the place feels like home. The broad, landscaped grounds create a lovely, peaceful atmosphere. It’s a tranquil way to get away from the city bustle.

There are plenty of activities for the whole family, and it’s especially good for kids. We had a great staycation, with delicious food and excellent customer service. Highly recommended!
