I was there as a walk-in to celebrate my birthday, though I didn't stay overnight at MET. It's a nice resort, and I really enjoyed the fantastic beach view. Keep an eye on children in the pool, since there's no lifeguard.

I chose MetBeach Resort because I wanted a Malindi hotel with direct beach access. Its advertising described a clean, peaceful private beach, so I was shocked to find it dirty and very rocky, making it hard to get to. When I raised the mismatch with the staff, they said there wasn't much they could do about the beach's natural conditions. I told them they shouldn't advertise it as accessible. The manager then said they might arrange transport to Malindi Marine Park for beach access, but the next day I was told the hotel director had decided that wasn't possible. That fit a wider pattern of the director shutting down guest requests and staff ideas to limit costs. My dinner on the first night was lackluster. I told the waitstaff, who were very accommodating and suggested a possible refund. At checkout, the staff member had to call the director before approving it. He tried to refuse, then made them check with the kitchen to confirm I'd complained, and only reluctantly gave the refund. The staff at MetBeach were generally kind and tried to help, but the director didn't give them the support or freedom to do their jobs. He seemed focused on profit at any cost. I was repeatedly given stained towels, and anything that might cost the hotel extra was micromanaged. The hotel is conveniently located in Malindi, with a good breakfast, kind staff, a great ocean view, and a small boutique feel, though the beach itself was disappointing. Still, what I paid didn't match the treatment or amenities, and they fell short of what was advertised. Until the hotel leadership changes, I'd suggest staying somewhere else if you want value for your money.

It was a clean hotel in a good spot for a quiet, pleasant stay. I found the bed uncomfortably firm, though I may just not be used to that. I didn't have time to try the inviting pool. The beef fillet was tender and nicely seasoned, but the lamb chops I had were very tough. Breakfast was great, with lots of juicy, flavorful fruit, though I would've liked some cereal. There was no milk in the room for early coffee, so I had to ask for it and was charged to my room. Some of the infrastructure wasn't well maintained. I understand the weather was hot and a cold shower might have been best, but there was no hot water in the room, which was disappointing.

The owner went out of their way to make sure our stay was just right, and the friendly staff made us feel welcome. I loved finding rose petals on the bed. Right by the sea, the hotel had stunning sunrise views. Our room was spacious, clean, and very comfortable. Met Resort is a lovely choice for a relaxing getaway. I wholeheartedly recommend it and can't wait to return.

I felt safe during my solo stay and enjoyed the peaceful setting. The private beach was great for enjoying the ocean view without big crowds, and the balcony sitting area had a lovely view too. I liked the room, though ants were wandering around on the second day. Breakfast was delicious, but dinner felt average and I didn't enjoy it much. I'd suggest providing toothpaste and disposable shower caps. It's near Malindi marine park.
