The fresh bread and cake from the oven were my favorite, and my wife loved the coffee. There’s great, healthy food too, with plenty of seafood. It’s a wonderful getaway for couples or families looking to spend time together. This place feels like a hidden gem, a little lost paradise I’d recommend to anyone wanting to get away.

The food was limited in variety and poor in quality, and I left three days before my booking ended. The room was small and dark, the shower rusty, and we were given one small bar of soap on the first day with no more for the rest of the stay. The famous white beach is over 2 km away, reached by tuk-tuk along a rocky, uncomfortable road. There was no security control, so I felt unsafe and unprotected. The hotel also feels cut off from Malindi centre and the beaches. My phone disappeared there, with no chance of getting it back. The staff were kind enough, but couldn’t provide information or help arrange excursions and other activities at the hotel. I don’t know what kind of tourists would enjoy it. There aren’t facilities even for children, and the small swimming pool was quite dirty.
