Ocean Beach Resort Spa

I regretted spending my money here and didn't enjoy the stay. The staff were welcoming and kind, and the food tasted good, but the same dishes came out every night during my week there, so it needed more variety. The air conditioners were awkwardly placed: above the door in some rooms, where they couldn't reach all the corners, and above the bed in others, blowing straight onto whoever was underneath and becoming uncomfortable over time. The paths to the rooms were quite dark, with crabs making cozy hiding spots there compared with the brighter areas where there were barely any. The resort doesn't come close to what I expect from a five-star hotel. It needs a complete renovation, and only eight TV channels were working. I also felt there was classism, with the few foreign guests getting much more appreciation than local guests. There weren't many foreigners there, and I think that's for a reason. If you've stayed at a five-star hotel, this place is nowhere near that standard. I'd be aware of all this before coming.

The staff were extremely nice and helpful, and there are several options to choose from. It has unique beachfront access and great swimming pools. One of the most beautiful places in malindi. I’d definitely recommend it.

The food, fireworks, and maasai dance were the parts of our New Year's Eve dinner that met expectations. We had reserved for seven at the resort in Malindi to welcome 2026. The programme looked promising, and the menu sounded tempting, but the evening was disappointing for the price and the place's reputation. The service felt disorganized, some performances never happened and nobody explained why, and the sound system was poor. The volume jumped very high at random, and the DJs' music didn't suit the occasion. The band did make an effort and played some good tunes. There was no one guiding guests through the programme, so some people simply went to get food and everyone else followed. At countdown time, some of the kids were randomly given mini vuvuzelas, then someone finally took the microphone and asked guests to cheer and the kids to make celebratory noise. There's room to improve. Happy 2026!

The food was the best we've ever had on holiday, with fresh dishes, good variety, and generous portions. At Ocean Beach, check-in and booking went smoothly, and we found the rooms spacious, attractive, and comfortable. The calm atmosphere made it easy to relax, and the warm, friendly service meant every detail seemed taken care of. We’d gladly come back and have already told friends about it.
