The staff were lovely and very kind, but the guest house itself is extremely basic. The room was clean, although everything seemed old, broken, or worn out. Noise from people and animals, in the hallway or street, kept waking me during the night. I'd only suggest it for a single night if you need to be near the train station or airport, since there aren't many other choices nearby. Especially useful if you have an early flight or train.

A handy highway lodge for a stop along the way, with good accommodation and a nice place to relax.

It's tucked away, but if you're coming to the coast by rail for the first time, it gives you a chance to cool down and make plans. The location works for arrivals at any time. From there, you can head into Mombasa and on to the North coast, or take the Southern bypass via Dongo Kundu for a South Coast trip to Diani.

The rooms are great for just 1500 a night, with fans to keep them cool. Breakfast is served, and it changes every morning.

The room was clean, with a mosquito net, hot shower, and working Wi-Fi. This is a nice budget guest house with free breakfast. Getting there was the part I didn't like. It was raining, and the road was dark, muddy, and full of potholes. It looks like construction is going on in the area.
