Mombasa Continental Resort Resort

The service was fantastic in the lobby, by the pool and at the restaurant, and the beach has a secure private area. We were on full board and enjoyed lunch, dinner and breakfast from the buffet. The food quality was very good, with enough variety to suit everyone. We stayed overnight on a Saturday with my girlfriend and her child, after booking online. We arrived before 12 check-in, and they kindly checked us in because a room was available. Our ocean view room was lovely, clean, and had a clean bathroom. The furniture was classic, not exactly old, and the balcony had a great view. I’d been before on day passes, so I already had an idea what to expect. This stay confirmed the room situation for me, and I’ll definitely return. It reminded me a bit of a Caribbean resort on the Indian ocean.

Evening at Madafu Beach Bar was a highlight. With the ocean waves in the background, palm trees moving in the breeze, and such a serene feel, it was pure magic at night. I also had fun with Ramsey’s collection of board games. He showed me a unique version of Mancala, which was memorable. I booked a solo trip at MCR and had an amazing time. My room was spacious and comfortable with lovely views, and the staff were always courteous and helpful. I especially enjoyed the poolside restaurant’s à la carte menu. The prawns in coconut sauce were delightful, definitely worth trying. I felt safe and comfortable throughout as a solo female traveler.

We stayed for 2nights from 12th April to 14th April 2026, including for our conference. Thank you for hosting us. The meals were fresh and sumptuous, and we loved the variety. Asante to all the warm, kind staff, from security at the main gate and entrance to reception, kitchen, pool area and restaurant. A few things to consider: please improve the cleanliness under cupboards and of the bed linen and towels. Could meals come with a soft drink or even water? This was the first hotel where I didn’t see that. Fans around reception would also help, as it gets very hot there with no air passing through.

The balcony views were stunning, and the rooms were clean with polite staff. I was pleasantly surprised. My only disappointment was the lack of an iron in the rooms, so you have to rely on dry cleaning services to get clothes ironed for set fees.
