The staff were consistently friendly and accommodating, but the Royal Court Hotel has clear maintenance and modernization problems. Its historic charm doesn’t make up for how much the lack of investment affects a guest’s stay. The Premium Inn Hotel may be a better choice in the area if you want somewhere more modern and well maintained. Our room was spacious, but short on basic comforts. There was no bar fridge, the hot water was inconsistent, the shower tiles were moldy, and the water pressure was weak. The television was small, the towels were old and stained, and the bed was uncomfortably hard. Tiled floors and poor sound insulation also meant constant noise from outside. Dining was a low point, with poor food quality, so guests should be ready to eat elsewhere. There were no takeaway cups for coffee either, so bring a travel mug if you like a hot drink on the go. Wi-Fi was average, at around 20Mbps, and parking was limited to a few off-street spots. A swimming pool, gym, and bar are listed, but we didn’t use them.

I had a taxi picking me up here. When I arrived, the receptionist called the transport company to let them know I was waiting. That was very nice of him. Then I went to 11.

It’s a decent mid-size hotel, fairly priced and well located. The food was average. They should add more local dishes, especially for breakfast.
