The kids had a great time at the kids club, and the chef was happy to accommodate a special diet for a family member. The half board option was really useful, and the food was amazing. Staff were always glad to help. My family and I had a lovely stay that we’ll remember.

The room had an amazing view, and local wildlife came right up to the patio. Watch out for the cute monkeys roaming around, they may try to join the party. The resort sits on a beautiful beach in Mombasa, the staff are attentive and extremely friendly, and the restaurants have a top tier food selection. I love Serena resorts, they never disappoint. Unfortunately, the checkout on our final day overshadowed the good parts of the stay. The front desk seemed very disorganized, with charges put on the wrong rooms, services we had prepaid charged again, and several people in our group charged for vehicle service that had already been paid for. I was very disappointed with how it was handled. Keep track of what you sign and settle your room bill each night so you can check whether anything new has been added.

Rosemary, the restaurant hostess, and our waiter Mikky surprised us with a lovely romantic breakfast by the sea for our honeymoon. They took care with every detail, and it made our day. Serena also felt special to me because I lived in Mombasa 23 years ago and used to come here as a child for a drink or a meal and those lovely views. The rooms are a little dated, and the ocean-facing ones get quite damp, though I suppose that comes with Mombasa’s weather. Apart from that, we enjoyed our time here. The staff are so friendly and seem genuinely passionate about making guests happy. When our flight was cancelled on checkout day because of an industry-wide strike, Romano and Anne from reception and guest relations helped us through the confusion and quickly found another flight that fit our travel plans. We couldn’t have managed it without their local knowledge, and they helped even though it was outside their responsibility. Thanks for making the journey smooth. Coming back for our honeymoon made my old childhood memories even more meaningful. Thanks for treating us so well, we’ll be back.

I was at the hotel for the #AMRKenya2026 conference. The calm, peaceful setting and great sea views from the rooms made it a lovely stay. Staff were warm, friendly, and efficient. The conference facilities were excellent, with a room near the kitchen, and there was a fresh, generous choice of meals and snacks. Great experience, and certainly good value for money.
