Baraka worked well for me as a comfortable base in Nairobi, especially with events downtown. The location is right in the downtown area, though, and the rooms lacked outside air ventilation. The rooms were clean, and the food was nicely priced. I even spent about 16 hours there without going out because it’s so self-contained: WiFi, smart screens, AC, hot water, a restaurant, and a nice breakfast.

Their Pilau wasn’t what I expected. It was fried rice with lots of Soy Sauce and spices sprinkled on top. I’d avoid ordering it.

The food was delicious, and the customer service was excellent. John in the restaurant was especially kind and took great care of us. My husband and I loved our stay and would recommend the hotel. We’ll definitely come back.

The beds are comfortable and the rooms are clean, and the building itself is good. The hotel is outside town, far from the city center, and the surrounding area feels quite different from downtown and a bit dirty. I’m not sure whether it’s safe. Street noise comes right into the room since it isn’t soundproof. I only tried the beef steak, and the food was neither bad nor good.
