Four Points by Sheraton Nairobi Airport

I stayed awake all night because I didn’t feel comfortable getting into the bed. In retrospect, spending those hours at the airport would have been a better choice. I can’t recommend this hotel under any circumstances, and management needs to address the cleanliness immediately. What we found was repulsive. We checked in late, and moving to another hotel wasn’t practical. We normally stay at a nearby hotel, but it was fully booked this time. The irony is that this alternative has a higher star rating, keeps excellent standards, and costs less. The staff were the only positive part. They were polite and professional, and tried to help within their limits. We first asked to change rooms after finding damp bedding and an unclean bathroom in the room we were given. There were stains on the floor, a dirty toilet, and a visible drop of blood on the seat. The decor was outdated and stuck in the 1970s, but that wasn’t why I’m writing this. The next room was no better. Its bathroom floor was dirty, with marks on the tiles and dust in the corners. The sheets were threadbare, and the pillowcases had holes in the corners. The staff member with us could see it was unacceptable too. We were then shown a suite, where we reasonably expected better standards. It was just as bad: grime around the bathroom drain, marks on the taps, toilet, and flush button, plus an old dirty rug and stained upholstery. The photos are only of that last room because we didn’t stay long enough in the other two, and they don’t fully show how unacceptable the conditions were.

The hotel is just 5 minutes from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, with a shopping mall nearby. Karen Blixen Museum is around a 20-minute drive, and Wilson Airport, the domestic airport, is about 30 minutes away. There’s a lot on site: a taxi shuttle, laundry, spa, two restaurants, gym, swimming pool, sauna, and a great breakfast. The restaurant food was top quality, and I’d highly recommend the spa. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and excellent, and the service was outstanding throughout. It was a pleasure to stay here. I found it one of the safest places in Nairobi and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable, safe stay in Africa.

The rooms are spacious and clean, and breakfast was a full spread. I got in late and was exhausted, but a really nice staff member, I think her name was Sharon, made sure I was taken care of. The hotel is so close to the airport I could have walked.

The staff are what make this hotel special. They greet you warmly, never seem rushed, and do what they can to make the stay comfortable. A special mention to the front desk team, especially 'Perpetual', who has checked me in several times and shared plenty of information about local activities and attractions. The Four Points by Sheraton Aiport is well maintained, with all the facilities you need, including a pool, spa, and gym. The rooms are quiet, clean, and comfortable, and the beds are especially good. I only held back the fifth star because of how far it is from activities, though that’s to be expected from an airport hotel. I always enjoy staying here.
