Jacuzzis can help with muscle tension, circulation, relaxation, stress, anxiety, joint pain, and sleep. They use water jets for a stronger massage and air jets for gentler bubbles, with direction, pressure, and intensity often adjustable. A pump sends water through the jets, while a filter traps dirt, oils, and debris. They're usually made of fiberglass, with an ergonomic interior designed to support the body. Sizes and shapes vary, including square, rectangular, and corner models. Some have LED lights or waterfalls, and many newer ones use insulated shells and efficient heaters to cut power use. Advanced sanitation may use ozone or UV to purify the water and reduce the need for chemicals.
We spent three hours just getting through check-in problems, and nobody offered to help. The owner hadn't shared any instructions before we arrived, so we had to ask for the door code and key at the door. There was no electricity until he topped it up, then he told me to take the white appliance and charging cable from the kitchen downstairs for the security guard to charge. The Wi-Fi password took several tries, and even once we got it right there was no internet. We waited half an hour for him to fix it. There was no hot water either. The owner told me to switch on the heater from the balcony, but it still didn't work. He then said it was too late to find anyone to repair it, so we took cold showers in the 15-degree Nairobi night. The toilet was filthy, with yellow marks on the sink and urinal, and the toilet light was broken. Nobody fixed it during our three-day stay. The balcony was covered in dust and leaves the next morning, as though it hadn't been lived in or cleaned for ages. The owner only called a cleaner after we complained. The apartment gets no sunlight and is dark even during the day, so we had to keep the lights on. Clothes I hung on the balcony took three days to dry. It was cold inside even when it was sunny out, and after that first cold shower I caught a cold the next day. There's mold on the bathroom ceiling, apparently from the lack of sunlight, and staying there was really uncomfortable. I had to raise every issue myself because the owner hadn't told me anything in advance, and he was very slow to reply. I called him on WhatsApp several times, but he never answered. When I asked why he hadn't explained things beforehand, he said most guests knew what to do. I was furious. These were things the landlord should have sorted before guests arrived, but he left them for us to deal with and shifted the responsibility onto us. The most proactive he was about contacting me was on the last day, when he urged me to leave by 10 am. I picked this apartment because it was a few dollars cheaper than others nearby. Saving that little wasn't worth it. There's a reason it cost less.
It's quiet and tucked just off the main road, but still an easy walk to Yaya Centre, Valley Arcade, and some good cafes and restaurants. Getting to Ngong Road or Argwings Kodhek Road is also easy, which makes commuting surprisingly smooth.
There's plenty of parking, and the neighbourhood feels secure. It's a peaceful, developed part of Kilimani on Dennis Pritt Road, with good amenities like a gym and a secure kids play area.
Security is really nice, and there's a gym on the first floor in the garage area. The new building is quite quiet. I rented on the 15th floor on the city side and had an amazing view. I also rented on the middle, 7th floor, where those apartments had no view or windows.
