Mdawida Homestay

Our family learned a lot during this stay, and we hope to keep in touch with the Mdawida family. For us, it felt like a home vacation. Serah even took us on a wonderful drive to wongonyi in Taita, Voi, despite the rain. It was a real eye-opener, with breathtaking scenery and culture. We were visiting Nairobi with my wife and our small 10-year-old, and I wanted a homestay in an estate where our child could spend time with kids his age and learn from them, rather than feel left out among adults. Staying with the Mdawida family at Mdawida (Sunvalley Estate) turned out to be the best decision for our trip. Their lovely home is in an amazing estate, only 20 minutes from the airport beside Nairobi national park, and the drive there was really interesting. Mr. Ronny and Mrs. Serah Mdawida went out of their way to make us comfortable, and were especially patient with our naughty son, who asked about everything. The home keepers, Hellen and Violet, were very tolerant of us and our child. They kept us going with lovely cups of coffee and the delightful meals they cooked for us. I’d recommend this homestay to anyone who appreciates having the Mdawida’s around.

I stayed there for over three weeks, and the security is high. Sera and everyone at Mdawida are very welcoming, and the hospitality is heartwarming. A lovely place.
