Nairobi Glory Palace Hotel

Glory Palace Hotel is a convenient, budget-friendly option on Murang’a Road, close to Nairobi’s CBD. It’s near Ngara and Globe Roundabout, with La Casa Bendita Apartments a short distance away, and links to University Way and Thika Road are easy. There are schools, businesses, and residential apartments around it. The hotel offers basic accommodation with dining options, making it accessible for people visiting the city centre for work or leisure.

The rooms looked good, and there was WiFi and a mosquito net, so I wasn't concerned about internet access or mosquitoes. Still, you may need to ask reception for basics like soap, water, or the TV remote, as the rooms weren't properly supplied. Check your room carefully before settling in, since some TVs may be collapsed and not working. I liked my experience at the hotel overall, but service was poor. Requests were sometimes brought late, and sometimes not at all. I’m leaving the country tomorrow for Tanzania.

I came because of the meal shown on their board, but the dish was disappointing, even though I paid KSh 400. I was the only one in the restaurant. They should do something about it.

I needed somewhere reasonably priced for my friend Zechary Bango, who came to Kenya to bring his wife home. After checking reviews online, I chose Glory Palace because it seemed safe, clean, affordable, had food on site, and was a short cab ride from the American Embassy. His visit turned into about six weeks, much longer than planned. When he had to return home early, the staff looked after his wife as well as him, and he was grateful. He asked me to leave this review and give five stars. Finding an inexpensive, safe, decent hotel in Nairobi is hard, and this place meets all three needs.
