Ole Sereni Hotel

On December 18, I checked in around 8:00 PM under the name Wairimu, paid the full rate, and asked for a quiet room after a long day because I had an early Turkish Airlines flight. Instead, the room was noisy, with children and adults making a lot of sound next door, so I couldn't get proper rest. Dinner was another letdown. We waited almost an hour for two club sandwiches, and they only arrived after we asked the bartender to check on them. They were cold, and we didn't finish them. The takeaway coffee offered at checkout never came either. There were some good moments: the outdoor setting was pleasant, the checkout attendant was kind and understanding, and John, whose surname I don't know, welcomed me and helped with my luggage. I usually pick Ole Sereni for outbound flights because it's conveniently located, the rooms are clean, and service is normally reliable. I've preferred it for a while, which is why this felt like a real lapse. The menu could also be simpler. It's wordy and has no pictures, which makes ordering hard when you're tired. I hope future stays are closer to the quality Ole Sereni is known for.

We spent Christmas at Ole Sereni, and it was a lovely way to wind down the year. The rooms were immaculately clean, well ventilated, softly scented, and lit just right. Waking up to views across Nairobi National Park and watching the sunrise from bed was magical. The meals were consistently excellent, and everyone we encountered, from the gate and parking teams to the restaurant, security, and housekeeping staff, was warm and kind. Duma Spa was the highlight for me. Fatma gave me an aromatherapy massage that felt deeply restorative. The aromas, lighting, quiet, room temperature, and pace all seemed carefully set up for relaxation and emotional release. The water features by the dining areas were calming to watch, especially when birds came to swim, drink, and share breakfast with us. Nature and hospitality seemed to sit together so naturally. The interiors were a solid 10/10, international and refined but still warm. The hallways were beautifully styled and scented, with a calm feeling that seemed to hug you as you walked through. As a wellness travel curator, I can say Ole Sereni really does qualify as a healing space. It now tops my list of city wellness retreats, and I'll recommend it for wellness stays, resets, and curated retreats.

Ole Sereni has been amazing. We've spotted giraffes, rhinos, and even a lion from our window. I was invited to meet the management team, and the general manager asked us to share any feedback, good or bad, so she could make sure guests get the best service. I only have good things to say. Every staff member we've dealt with has been incredible and ready to help with anything we ask. You're all doing a great job. Anyone who visits Kenya and skips Ole Sereni is missing out!

We stayed one night after our international flight, and it was a great start to the trip. The hotel is easy to reach from the airport, and the views over the National Park were lovely. We even saw zebras from our room. The steakhouse was delicious, with great terrace seating. The hotel arranged a driver to take us to the Giraffe center, and he made a few other nice stops too. I'd stay again.
