The suite was beautifully decorated for my Husband's 40th, and the executive lounge had a generous spread of sweet and savoury snacks, canapés, and drinks. The staff there, and the people who welcomed us early and got our room sorted, were lovely and helpful. We also had a successful day trip using the hotel transport service. We’d been looking forward to celebrating my Husband's birthday at the steak restaurant. I’d booked months ahead and contacted the staff about the menu and champagne list, but on arrival I was told it had been closed for refurbishment for months. I chose the hotel largely because of that restaurant, so it was a real letdown to get no warning and no chance to research and book somewhere else. Dinner by the rooftop pool was nice, but not the special evening I’d hoped for. The advertised champagne bar had also disappeared. We stayed two nights in August. The hotel itself is very nice and the staff friendly, but the restaurant situation took away from the occasion.

Even with the place busy, the service stayed excellent, and the band really brought the festive mood. The Christmas Day lunch menu was full of flavor, and I liked having à la carte instead of the usual holiday buffet. The salad bar was fantastic, though the tuna ceviche could have been better. I also thought offering it separately from the main meal was a great idea. Thoroughly enjoyed lunch at Sankara.

I love coming back here. The staff greet you each day with such warm, genuine smiles, and their service makes every trip feel a bit more special. It’s a little too close to the buzzing nightlife spots, but that’s not the hotel’s fault.

Dorris at reception made my stay memorable, even making an effort to complete my set of animal souvenirs. The souvenirs are great, and I also really enjoyed the breakfast and gym. Such good service and hospitality, definitely worth five stars.
