Swiss Lenana Mount Hotel

We had a good stay, with excellent staff and more of a holiday feel than a downtown business hotel. The Swiss Lenana Mount Hotel works well as a base for two or three days exploring Nairobi and the surrounding area. It’s in a central, safe part of town, and getting around is fairly easy. The Giraffe center took us 25 minutes, and it was about the same to reach the fancy restaurants in Karen. The facilities were okay, though there were a few drawbacks. The gym is spacious but short on equipment. The restaurant buffet costs 2000 Khs, which felt a little expensive for decent food and nothing more. Weekend evening entertainment could also be noisy. Turning the volume down would make sense for a hotel, not a disco.

We had no trouble checking in early at around 4am, and the hotel made a great base for our four days of exploring Nairobi. It felt very safe, staff were attentive and made sure we were comfortable and secure, and everything was clean and comfortable. The price was good for what we got, so we’d recommend it. The rooftop pool has a lovely setting and a great view across Nairobi, though it could be put to better use. The water was so cold we didn’t swim, and the pool is shaded in the afternoon. Breakfast was okay, mostly Asian food, and we’d hoped to find a few more local options.

We had a relaxing family staycation at Swiss Lenana Mount Hotel in Nairobi. The peaceful surroundings made it easy to unwind away from the city, and the rooms were clean, spacious, and comfortable. Extra beds for the children fit in well without making the room feel crowded. Everything was kept in good condition, including the shower, which had dependable pressure and temperature. Cleanliness around the hotel was commendable. Meals were delicious and well prepared, with generous portions and enough choice for everyone in the family. The waiters and service team were attentive, courteous, and always ready to help with a smile. The welcoming atmosphere and professional staff made us feel well looked after. One improvement I’d suggest is adding soundproofing to the rooms so guests can have proper quiet. Even so, the calm setting, family-friendly rooms, good food, reliable facilities, and excellent service made this a wonderful stay that exceeded our expectations. We’d gladly return, and I’d recommend it to families, couples, business travelers, or solo visitors.
