The buffet food was outstanding, and the gardens are stunning, with wildlife wandering around the extensive property. There’s a golf course too. We stayed on a February weekend when it was pretty full, yet it never felt crowded. It’s a gorgeous lodge with small houses, some set up as family homes and some with four parties per house. Each has a deck looking over the extensive gardens toward the great Rift valley in the distance. Wealthier Nairobi folks make heavy use of the lodge for weekend relaxation.

The scenery of Lake Naivasha was beautiful. The buffet had lots of choice and was sumptuous, and Felix at the restaurant made sure we had a fantastic experience. I left valuables in the room at checkout, but Stacy made sure they were returned intact. The kind, polite reception team led by Purity and Berita, along with the wild ambience and silence around the exquisite cottages, made this a memorable stay I’d go back for. The rooms are right among the thickets, where friendly warthogs grunt by the window and antelope cross your path, wagging their little tails as if waving.

We liked having a living room, but the cottage had plenty of problems. It had three rooms and a small kitchen, though the kitchen wasn't well equipped. The upstairs was sealed off and full of bats. The fridge didn't work, and the short shower curtain let water spread across the floor. The bed was the most uncomfortable one we've had in more than three years of staying in Kenya. The resort is spread out, and its pool wasn't really heated. The children's pool felt warm, but the deeper areas were quite cold, and using it wasn't included in our stay. Food and drink service was pleasant, just very slow. The dinner buffet cost far too much and wasn't worth it, even though the staff were nice. Prices in general felt excessive. We were surprised they didn't charge us to go through the gate 😂

The golf course is an 18-hole championship course, well kept and challenging, with zebras and warthogs wandering across the fairways. The views are just as memorable, stretching over Lake Naivasha, Mount Longonot, and the Rift Valley. They call it one of humankind's oldest views, and it's spectacular. A truly unforgettable getaway.

Purity was a real highlight of our stay. She was kind and attentive, checked in often, and made sure we had what we needed. The rest of the staff were warm and professional too, and we felt well looked after. We came away with lovely memories and would happily return. The Great Rift Valley Lodge has peaceful grounds, fresh air, manicured lawns, and wide views across the Rift Valley. Our room was spacious and clean, and the sunrise over the valley was magical. It was easy to relax there, away from the city. Meals were fresh, tasty, and nicely presented. There was plenty of choice at the buffet, and we enjoyed breakfast on the terrace as well as dinner by the fireplace. We also liked the scenic golf course and evening walks. The lodge brought together nature and comfort in a way that exceeded our expectations. I'd recommend it for a quiet getaway.
