The best part is the setting, close to the Masai Mara National Reserve entrance, with beautiful scenery and even a chance of seeing wildlife in the yard. If you mainly need an affordable place to sleep near the park and aren't too concerned about accommodation standards, it may work for you. My stay at Mara Forest Camp was just okay. The rooms could have been cleaner, the food wasn't impressive, and some staff came across as unprofessional. The water kept cutting in and out, which was a hassle.

We were impressed by the mountain view and felt at ease throughout our stay thanks to the good security. The camp was clean and comfortable, and room service was impeccable.

We ate very well, and the tent was comfortable. The location is superb, right by the Maasai Mara National Park entrance gate, and we could see zebras and umpalas far off.
