We were the only tourists there, and the hotel looked like it had been closed for months. Dust was everywhere and the shared areas hadn’t been maintained. Our room was fairly clean, but old and neglected. After a quick shower, the bathroom floor was flooded because the drain was completely blocked. We couldn’t wait to leave.

Right in the heart of Maralal town, this place has a warm, welcoming feel. It’s a lovely spot to visit if you enjoy a classic, old school setup.

We were overlanding and camping on the grounds, so we only used the rooms’ bathrooms. The rooms are cosy, with hot showers ready to go, and the grounds felt secure. Keep an eye on your food, though. The cheeky monkeys know how to get to it.

A quiet place to unwind, with fabulous food and spot on service. Great for camping and seeing the resident wildlife. The safaris to the Suguta Valley view point are always a bit of a bucket list trip. Five stars ✨

The service was exceptional when I spent New Year’s Eve with friends, then went on a walking safari on New Year’s.
