The wildlife sightings made every game drive thrilling, thanks in part to our phenomenal guide Andrew, whose knowledge and eye for animals were extraordinary. We saw lions, leopards, elephants, and the distinctive Samburu Special Five. Our two nights at Soroi Larsens Camp were incredible. From our tent, elephants wandered by and drank at the Ewaso Nyiro River. The setting is breathtaking, and the spacious luxury tents are beautifully designed, kept immaculate, and balance comfort with the wilderness. The food and staff were what really made the stay. Everyone was warm, attentive, and sincerely committed to making our time special. Lunch and dinner were delicious four-course meals, beautifully presented and served beside the river, with monkeys and baboons nearby. Meals were fresh, varied, and full of flavor.

Wildlife viewing around camp and in Meru National Park was fantastic. We saw plenty of Grévy's zebra, gerenuk, and reticulated giraffe, plus two leopard and a cheetah. The location by the river in the reserve feels peaceful and close to nature. Our stay at Soroi Larsen's Camp was fantastic. The camp is lovely and still quite new, about three years old, with fresh, stylish design. Our spacious room under the trees stayed cool even in the heat. Rosa and Samuel took great care of us, Peter kept the room spotless, and all the staff were friendly and welcoming. The food was delicious and healthy, and we especially enjoyed the cheese boards. Highly recommend staying here if you're in the area.

I run a travel service called Inspiral Africa and co-guided a family of six from the Netherlands on a safari organised by Sunworld Safaris in February this year. Soroi Larsens Camp was our first stop, for two nights, and the family found it so special they didn't want to leave. The camp is quiet, with lovely rooms and birds and wildlife right outside. The photo hide they now have is a big plus, too. I thought the food and service were outstanding, delivered by friendly, excellent staff.

After three days camping, we arrived at Soroi Larsens Camp for two nights, and the comfort felt like a real treat. Our spacious, nicely decorated tent sat right on the river. It had a comfortable bed, mini fridge with drinks, plenty of water, a lovely shower with quality toiletries, dressing gowns, and lots of thoughtful details. We especially liked the butler door, with coffee delivered in the morning before game drives. The location in Samburu Reserve on the Ewaso Nyiro River is fantastic, and the welcome was warm and genuine. Meals were outstanding, à la carte, with an amuse-bouche and three beautifully presented courses. Charles, our waiter throughout, was consistently kind and attentive. Managers Jesse and Morris checked in often and clearly cared about guests being comfortable and happy. We loved cooling off at the pool in the afternoon heat, with its view over the reserve. There’s a poolside bar, too, where Ali looked after us warmly and thoughtfully. On our final night, a mobile bar, fire, and snacks were set up in the bush for sundowners just outside camp. Such a magical end to the stay. A special place that balances wilderness, comfort, and great service. We couldn't recommend it more.

The people made the stay memorable. Manager Harrison was impeccably hospitable, and my driver Evan brought the wilderness to life with his knowledge and enthusiasm. In September, I spent one night in a Deluxe Luxury Suite with the iconic star bed. It was a dreamlike mix of comfort and wilderness, with a private terrace, plunge pool, outdoor shower, and beautiful river views. Waking beneath the stars was one of my most profound safari memories. Along the Ewaso Nyiro River, Soroi Larsens Camp surrounds you with Samburu's raw beauty while offering real luxury. Samburu felt every bit as magical as the Masai Mara, in its own way. The experience has stayed vivid with me. If you're after luxury, nature, and heart together, the camp delivers beyond expectation.
