The staff made my trip so memorable, and I’m grateful to all of them. I stayed two nights for my 30th birthday, and the Majlis exceeded my expectations. I was met at the airport and taken straight to the hotel, where I had the most luxurious accommodation I’ve ever experienced. They were so helpful with transport and excursions, including the floating bar and historical trips. My favorite was the Swahili Doors tour. You really shouldn’t leave without booking a dhow cruise.

There are three restaurants on site with plenty of variety, and the staff are warm and friendly. The check-in was quick and well organized. My room was huge and extremely clean, and the whole stay felt perfectly handled. If you love art, this is the place to be. For switching off and resting, it’s one of Kenya’s best hidden gems.

After a bad night at another hotel, we ended up here. Before we booked a couple of nights with breakfast and dinner included, the staff showed us around the whole property. It was amazing. Everyone was friendly, professional, and welcoming, and they took care of all our needs. The location is gorgeous, with beautiful pools including an infinity pool. My husband was hard to pull away from it. The food is fantastic, which is a real bonus when visiting other restaurants in town means taking a boat across the water. If you want upscale comfort, a beautiful setting, and outstanding service, definitely stay at the Majlis!

I dropped in at The Majlis for a quick drink at sunset and loved how calm and relaxing it felt. George looked after me so well, and Hamisi kept checking that everything was just right. The resort is beautiful, the hospitality exceptional, and the food is a 10. I’d highly recommend stopping by, even just for a sundowner. I’m already looking forward to coming back and staying a couple of nights next time I’m in Lamu.

The spa was a highlight, especially the aromatherapy massage with Elizabeth. She paid close attention and kept checking that I was comfortable. The pool and food were A1 too, and I really enjoyed the sushi at Umi and the catch of the day at the Mediterranean restaurant. Alex and Samuel were kind and helpful around the restaurant and pool. Thanks to the Majilis team. A great place to relax and unwind.
