The mangroves made the walk across the floating wooden bridge feel like stepping into a postcard. Their thick green growth lined both sides, with roots reaching into the creek, while a cool breeze moved through. The bridge swayed gently above the water with each step, making the crossing a real thrill. All I could hear were birds and the quiet flow of water below. It felt like being surrounded by untouched nature.

Fred and Benson were especially thoughtful, going out of their way to make us feel at home. From the moment we arrived at Mida Eco Camp, the staff treated my family and me like part of theirs. It was such a warm, welcoming stay. Highly recommend!

We couldn’t stay and had to book somewhere else. This place was in terrible condition and looked nothing like the photos. The rooms were run down, full of mosquitoes, and the nets had holes in them. It’s a 30-minute drive to Watamu, and the dirt road connecting it to the main road is almost inaccessible when it rains. It felt like a scam. I can’t recommend it to anyone.

It was quite nice, though the rooms could be improved.

The breakfast was good, but for the price quoted it should have been better. The food was unreasonably expensive, so bring your own. There aren’t any social amenities nearby, and the camp is 15 km from the main town. It might suit someone wanting to disconnect completely from the city. I spent one night at the camp. The lodges look good from outside, but inside they were poorly maintained and not designed for comfort. The mattress and pillow felt damp and stuffy. The camp is full of mosquitoes, but the nets were poorly patched with needle and thread. Management wouldn’t accommodate our cancellation, so we had to move to another place to stay. This camp has seen better days.
