The villa was cozy and quiet, with a great pool, decent beds, and excellent air conditioning in the bedroom. There wasn’t any in the living room. The crew were wonderful, the chefs made amazing food, and service was brilliant. I’d recommend getting shellfish or fish to grill. John was great for taxi services too. We had water and electricity outages throughout the stay, with no solutions. On the first day and night there was no water, and even after it was fixed, the shower pressure was so weak it was impossible to wash your hair. The villa is a long way in from the main road and quite far from the beach. The unpaved dirt road has lots of potholes, and trips to activities and restaurants add up. Tuk tuk providers charge tourists high prices. For the price, it’s a great, quiet place if you’re willing to put up with limited water and electricity and travel to the beach every day.

It’s my third stay at Rafiki village/Tamu, and I’m never disappointed. The staff are the best, and they make guests feel welcome and at home. Mr Profit Fondo, Gloria, and Betty especially went beyond their duties to make my family and me comfortable. We were treated so well that we didn’t want to leave. I can’t wait to come back for the next holidays, and I’d definitely recommend it to everyone, especially families. Great job, keep up the excellent service!

Rafiki Village is a peaceful place to relax, and the pool is amazing, rarely crowded. The attendants are super friendly and helpful. The villas have lots of space and African themed decor. My bedroom had working AC and big windows that let in plenty of daylight. It’s 400m off the tarmac road, and the access road is in good shape even for a small car.

We were a family of seven, and the spacious villa was super clean. My children were happy with everything, and the food was delicious, with no complaints, and always arrived right on time. The staff were kind and made us feel at home, while manager jaliwa was the best. He made the vacation easier by helping us figure out where and how to visit. The manager is awesome and down to earth, and the owner called to make sure we were doing well. We stayed at Rafiki Village Watamu from 12/12 /2020 to 12/17/2020 and had a very pleasant time. I’ll definitely come back for another vacation. Thank you to all the Rafiki staff.

Isaac & Edison were especially kind and attentive, and the hotel is beautifully built, with half-open villas, greenery, and a lovely pool. The Watamu location is fairly good, though the ocean isn’t very close. We couldn’t relax because of recurring power cuts, loud music from some guests, and electric shocks in the bathroom. My friends and I got scary shocks through the water whenever we washed our hands or showered in my bathroom. In the evenings, our villa had no electricity, which meant no lights, internet, or fridge. We reported the problems to the (Italian) owner, but he didn’t seem to care and offered no apology or goodwill gesture. Guests played their own music loudly on speakers, and management did nothing about it. Given all that, the rate felt excessive, and we thought the owner was behaving like a lout.
