Aiva Hostel

I was in the two-bed dorm for a couple of nights. The bed was comfortable, with its own privacy curtain, and the locker was roomy. It's a shame I lost a T-shirt I'd just bought after hanging it in the drying area to dry after washing.

I had a private room, but could still hear doors slamming in the early morning hours. If they could fix that, the stay would be even better. The hostel was one of the cleanest I've stayed in. Toilets were cleaned several times a day and stocked with what you need, and the staff were really friendly and helpful. There's no kitchen, just a fridge and microwave. That was fine for my short stay, especially since breakfast was good.

It looks nice, but feels cheap. The rooms get really hot, the showers stink, and people were talking loudly or blasting music in the middle of the night. Such a stark difference between the appearance and how it feels.

The location was excellent, with supermarkets, exchange houses, restaurants, a pub and parks nearby. The train station was about 1.5 km away. Bathrooms stayed clean and hygienic, with steady hot water and good pressure, and there was always someone at reception. The room was small but comfortable. I stayed in a two-bunk room for three nights, and noticed no housekeeping during that time, though I didn't ask about it. The property smelled pleasant throughout, and the electronic door and room cabinets felt secure. Breakfast was basic but good enough. The AC didn't cool the room fully, though my stay was still comfortable. There's an open area for free coffee and tea. I'd suggest replacing the complicated water heater with a regular kettle. It was a great place to stay, and I'd come back.
