Golden Hotel

Clean and quiet, with helpful service. The breakfast was basic but fine, and the main attractions were within a 20-25 minute walk. My room had a broken water pump, but I was satisfied overall. A nice place for a one- or two-night stay in Bishkek.

There are several places to eat nearby, mostly burger restaurants, and a grocery store for essentials. The room had plenty of space, but the bed and pillows were too firm for me. Breakfast wasn't anything special, and the TV only had local channels.

The location was the main draw. There are markets, restaurants, and fast food downstairs, and the area stays lively in a city where many places close by 9 PM. Only a few markets and restaurants remain open late or around the clock. We booked through Booking.com for a family of five and got two rooms, one with three single beds and the other with two, because double rooms weren't available. The rooms were small but neat and tidy. Although the building looks large outside, inside it is just one floor, beautifully designed and clean. Breakfast was just okay and served at the table rather than as a buffet. It included salad, rice with hot milk, one fruit, jam, butter, and bread, with a choice of egg; juice, tea, and coffee were self-service. I didn't like that there was no Muslim shower in the bathroom, though that seems common throughout Bishkek. I'd still recommend it for a short stay, mainly for the location and clean rooms.

The room was roomy enough for two and had air conditioning, a modern toilet, and a shower cabin. The hotel was clean and seemed fairly new. A market and several restaurants are right nearby, and it's about a 15-minute walk to the city center. The receptionist was friendly, attentive, and helpful. Breakfast was good, and they had a place to store our luggage until check-in.
