Asia Mountains has a lovely garden, a rare thing in Bishkek, and the pool is just right after a day walking around the city. There’s a generous buffet breakfast, tea and coffee throughout the day, and books in several languages to browse. Even with new tall buildings all around, it remains a quiet, charming place. The staff are excellent. Nadejdha has worked here for years and keeps everything spotless, and Sergei Fedorvich looks after the garden. This is my favourite hotel in Bishkek, and we’re already looking forward to staying at Asia Mountains again.

It’s a quiet spot despite being close to the railway line, with a lovely garden to relax in and a great little swimming pool. The rooms were clean and breakfast was good.

Some lovely walks nearby let you see how ordinary people live, though the hotel is a little way from most of Bishkek’s interesting sights. We spent a couple of nights here and enjoyed them immensely. The place is unusual, designed to feel homely, and it pulls that off. Breakfast was nice too. We’d recommend it.

The staff were very helpful and spoke good English. We stayed three nights as a family, using two very spacious rooms. Breakfast had the variety I expected, and the swimming pool was fantastic after a hot day exploring. You can hear a little noise from the passing trains, but it wasn’t too serious. In the evenings, we took a taxi into the centre and walked back after dinner, which took about 25 minutes. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend it.

The clean pool is a reasonable size, and there are only a few trains on the nearby railway line, so the noise isn’t too intrusive. The annex rooms are more up to date, while rooms in the main building could use some updating. The restaurant serves breakfast only, and tour groups stay here.
