Interhouse City Centre

The location is good, but the breakfast was very basic and disappointing. We weren’t given a key to lock our double room, which felt a little odd. You have to ring the bell to get into the hotel, and we could hear it from our room, so returning guests woke us several times late at night. The place has a few double rooms as well as dorms, but we wouldn’t come back.

The staff were friendly and the hostel itself was nice. There’s no air conditioning in the rooms, despite the website and Booking saying there is. You also have to ring a bell to enter, and you can hear it in your room, which gets annoying in the morning or late in the evening.

The room was clean and in a good location, and cost $25 a night for a private room. Still, it had neither air conditioning nor a private bathroom. That makes it the most expensive room I’ve stayed in during a year of traveling around the world.

It’s a bit dated, but the location is good and it’s a nice place to meet other travelers. I’d stay again.
