Urban Hotel

Breakfast was nice and healthy, and the location was excellent. Our room was very clean and comfortable. The key system caused a problem, though: there are no cards for the doors, just traditional keys. The next day our room wasn’t cleaned because we still had the key with us. They could tell guests to leave keys at reception, or use a master key for cleaning. A card system might also prevent this kind of issue.

Breakfast was the highlight, with lots of savory and sweet choices that all tasted great. The staff were efficient and friendly, too. The hotel is new and spotless, and our large room was comfortable, quiet, and had great pillows and linen. The shower and bathroom were spotless as well. The curtains let in a lot of morning light, so a sleep mask could help if you’re a light sleeper. The street itself isn’t especially pretty, with a building site opposite, but Panfilov park and other attractions are a five-minute walk away. We booked at the last minute for one night and wished we could have stayed longer. A good base for exploring Bishkek.

The room was spacious and very clean. I booked over Whatsapp and the host responded quickly. Reception is open 24/7, and they arranged an airport taxi within minutes, even at an unusual hour.

The staff were extremely kind and accommodating. Breakfast was great, and when I needed to leave early, the cook made me an omelet. The rooms are nice and large. I was first shown a room that smelled of cigarette smoke, but they moved me right away when I asked. It’s near downtown, though the hostel sits in a smaller neighborhood with unpaved roads. Then again, plenty of roads in Bishkek aren’t paved. The toilet paper could be better, and there’s no elevator, which may be an issue for guests with accessibility needs.
