We could walk to the city beach from the guest house, and our room looked out over the lake and mountains. It had everything we needed and was very comfortable. Breakfast was nice, and there was parking too. About 1 km away, the weekend fair has a great selection: fresh, smoked, and dried fish, tasty fruit and berries like cherries, strawberries, and apricots, plus all kinds of mushrooms and mountain honey.

A good spot to spend a few days.

Really beautiful.

The grounds are lovely, with a well-kept orchard and lots of flowers. We picked big, sweet cherries ourselves for 250 som per kg, and more should ripen by fall. The outside of the place is nice too. Inside, the room is small but cozy and has a balcony. The bed is tight for someone who's 175 cm, and the one blanket is small as well. Breakfast gets repetitive and is a letdown. The bread changes, but it's the same piece of butter and four slices of the same cheese. The daily option might be porridge, two pancakes, cottage cheese/kaymak, some kind of scrambled eggs with sausages, sliced cucumber and tomato, or meat samsa, which isn't bad. Potato pies can replace the bread. There's bagged tea and instant coffee, and that's it. Cleaning happens every four days, and there's only one key, so you have to leave it. The shower head and hose leak, and the sink tap has no aerator. The refrigerator is noisy at night, though at least there's one. When you turn on the water, it groans like a mad cat. Towels can smell damp despite an Uber washer and dryer. The incandescent bulbs are still there and dim. Mornings can be hot for sleeping even with the window open, and there's some road noise. It's a central road, though, with plenty of shops, cafes, and other places around. The beach is a bit of a walk, but not too far. You can head down the shopping street to the boarding house, then through the park. Or pass the WWII monument opposite the guest house through a creepy wasteland to reach the same park, or turn left toward the bourgeois hotels, shopping streets, and attractions. You can make do here on a budget.

The grounds are beautiful and well looked after, and it's a lovely guest house near the sea. It's not far from Golden Sands and feels like good value for the money. Breakfast was a little lacking, with no fruit at all.
