The hostel itself is pretty nice, but I found the bed really uncomfortable, and the room was stuffy with no airflow. It's a small room with 12 dorm beds, no ventilation, and only one working toilet and shower 🙈 A dorm bed costs 880 Som, and the restaurant is crazy expensive for Kyrgyzstan. They also add 15% to the bill. Laaaaaaaaame 🤦 I've traveled full time for 10 years and spent most of that time in hostels. I wasn't a fan of this place and won't be back when I visit this region next spring. If you're traveling on a budget, there are better options in Karakol 💯

The only downside was that our shower water never got properly hot. There's a lovely cafe attached, which makes meals easy. It's a perfect place to meet people for trips, get information, or book outings.

We stayed at Duet both before and after our three-day Ala Kul hike. The staff were really nice and could help arrange yurts and guest houses for the hikes. The private rooms are spacious and nicely decorated, and the restaurant and bar have plenty of choices. The coffee is great, and there's a lovely gift shop too.

The owners are lovely, and the restaurant serves pretty good food. The dorm beds were comfortable, and the toilets and shower rooms were cleaned regularly. A lovely hostel for backpackers.

The large lounge and kitchen made the hostel quite social, and the staff were helpful. My room was clean and got cleaned regularly around midday, and the bed was comfortable. Having a restaurant there was handy, though the food quality could be better for the price. You can book horse riding through them, but it's about 2k more expensive than booking directly with the operator.
