We stayed three nights: one before trekking through Altyn-Arashan Pass, then two after returning to Karakol. It's ideally placed near Karakolka restaurant, Sierra Cafe, and the bazar. This superb guesthouse felt especially welcoming to backpackers, with a therapeutic energy, great breakfasts, and useful services like laundry after strenuous mountain activities.

The breakfast was among the best we had in Central Asia, with fresh fruit, scrambled eggs and vegetables, homemade pancakes, and cake. We camped in the lovely garden, and the common areas and bathrooms were well cared for and super clean. Wi-Fi worked well. The host family was hospitable and helpful, and let us leave our car on their property while we went on a multi-day trek. Highly recommend.

The staff were kind and polite, and twice made us a great vegan breakfast when we asked, which we really appreciated. Our favorite guesthouse in Kyrgyzstan: large, bright rooms, comfy beds, and a peaceful setting with a beautiful garden.

Before the Ak-Suu traverse, we stayed just one night. The staff were great and helpful, and the place was very clean. There was good food with vegetarian options, and we were able to leave our extra luggage in a locker for our eight days of trekking.
