Maisons Wat Kor

We came to Battambang for my daughter’s 9th birthday, and the hotel made her a beautiful, delicious cake. The grounds are thoughtfully cared for, and the art throughout the property is amazing. I bought a rather large painting and happily carried it all the way back to North Carolina. I was impressed with the food too, especially the set meal I had on all three dinners. I’d definitely stay again. Battambang is quaint and lovely, and the Battambang Circus and Bamboo Train are worth a visit.

We spent a lot of time just relaxing at the property because it was such a lovely place to be. The staff, from the owners to the waiters and gardeners, greeted us with genuine, kind smiles, and they were all sweet with our little dog. She immediately took to the resident mini-poodle Happy. The restaurant is great, and the food is a real local highlight. Maison Wat Kor is a stunning spot in a quaint corner of Battambang. I highly recommend it and will be back soon.

The staff were warm and welcoming, and dinner is well worth having, the food was excellent. We stayed at this small hotel in January 2026. Both the rooms and shared spaces are beautiful, with lovely art and glorious wood. It feels comfortably Cambodian, while its relaxed elegance wouldn’t seem out of place on the California coast.

We had every meal at the hotel, with lots of Khmer and Western choices, excellent cocktails, and dishes that were beautifully presented and well prepared. The gardens and décor make clever, delightful use of recycled materials. Our room, F6, was huge, with a comfortable bed, effective A/C, fast Internet, and one of the best showers we’ve had while travelling, powerful and full of hot water. The large balcony felt quite private. The staff were lovely, and it was especially nice to spend time with CEO Mr Kim Nou and his wife, Sophia. One thing was deeply unpleasant: some guests ignored the “No Smoking” signs and smoked in the restaurant, which was offensive to other diners and the owners.
