Heng Sambath Guesthouse

I really liked this hotel. The rooms were spacious and clean, with hot water and really good air conditioning. I'll definitely come back 😄.

We had a great time here. The hotel is right in the heart of Kampot, and the staff were really nice and spoke great English. There wasn't a fridge in the room, and the hot water was a bit limited, but those were the only drawbacks.

We got around easily from here, with the night market about five minutes away and the riverside restaurants and bars around ten minutes away. The hotel also arranged our bus to PP at about the usual price, roughly 8 USD for a minivan or 10 for a larger coach. We rented a bike for 5USD and had no problems. The modern rooms were spacious and looked like the pictures, with a large double bed and good AC and wifi. Everyone on staff was very friendly.

What I’ll remember most about this guesthouse is how Nyta and her family looked after me when I was shaken after being robbed in Kampot. Nyta stayed with me through the hours at the police station and translated, and later her husband went with the police to find the men who robbed me and get back what had been taken. They cared so much and made sure I was alright, and I’m forever grateful. Thank you, Happy Family. I hope you all have a long, happy life. ❤️❤️❤️ The guesthouse also has all the basic things a traveler needs and is pretty central. Please don’t let what happened to me put you off visiting Kampot. Robberies can happen anywhere, and it’s a really nice city to visit.
