Samon Village

I really liked this place, and it was fine for a couple of nights. The rustic treehouse rooms are very cute, and the waterfront restaurant and bar are lovely, with good food. Watching sunrise from the dock was amazing, and the staff were so helpful. It can get noisy because it’s near a busy road, and you’ll hear neighbors if they play loud music. If you’re a light sleeper, bring earplugs.

We’d happily stay here again. The prices were reasonable, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Our hand-built bungalows showed impressive craftsmanship, and the food was delicious. The restaurant area has a beautiful river view and lots of different places to sit or nap. The cats and dogs were good company too. We would have liked to rent bikes, but that was our only small complaint. The staff were happy to arrange a tuk tuk whenever we needed one.

Such a chilled atmosphere in the restaurant, with nice music and a good vibe. The staff were wonderful and friendly, the bungalows lovely, and the beds comfortable. The toilets were clean, and the shower was amazing, even though it only had cold water. Very refreshing! It’s by the river and close to town, with a $2 Tuk Tuk. I had a lovely stay and would definitely recommend it.

The bungalows are simple and have no hot water, so be ready for cold showers. If that works for you, it’s a wonderful place to stay and feels like a real local experience. The staff were friendly, helpful, and always around. The restaurant and reception are at the back of the property by the river. There’s a lovely spot to watch the sunset, with seating from floor cushions to hammocks. You can rent kayaks or swim in the river. The menu has some fantastic dishes, including vegetarian options.
