Adventure Dome Resort

The owner, the main woman running the place, was friendly, spoke English, and seemed to clean better than the other staff. Still, after Khmer New Year there was nobody available to clean when I asked, which was poor. There’s a lot that needs attention. The beds had stains from previous guests, and although the rooms are large, cleaning was patchy. Even a bin left outside the room could sit there for days, attracting mites and pests. The bathroom window is cracked and the ceiling leaks, so the floor can end up like a pool. The place needs investment and much better hygiene.

We liked being away from town, and rented a motorbike at the resort to go exploring. The place has a lot of potential, though it needs some maintenance. The pool area is beautiful, and the architecture feels different from other Cambodian resorts. It’s quite new and has a pleasant feel. Service was friendly, but some things were hard to understand. We were the only guests and saw at least four staff, yet breakfast came on a dirty table. The curtains looked like they’d never been washed, the room behind the table was incredibly dusty, and we had to ask for toilet paper. If you want pastries with breakfast, bring your own, since they aren’t served. The rooms were very humid and there was probably mold. If you’re sensitive to that, this may not suit you. The dome was okay, but needed cleaning.

The pool was clean and pleasant, and the tower is an interesting idea, but it’s rusty and in poor shape. There aren’t any inviting places set up to relax, and the pictures of the property are misleading. There’s no slide. The resort could be good, but it’s badly maintained. All the rooms are moldy and made me cough. The dome roof looked like a biology lab, with black spores everywhere. Staff were okay, though there was a bit of a language barrier, not a huge one. They seemed short staffed too. For the price, you don’t get much.

We had a great stay and would recommend the place to friends or family. It’s peaceful, close to the sea, and felt like one of the region’s best resorts to me. The outdoor area has a good pool for adults and kids, plus a welcoming campfire spot. The rooms are modern, with good air conditioning and a television. Staff were very attentive and helpful, and followed health, cleaning, and safety protocols.
