The host treated me like family. This is a lovely family run business with very good service, and I’d highly recommend it if you want a real Khmer experience.

The staff were kind, and most of the family speak good English. Their little boy even reminded me to take a rest while I was carrying my luggage up the stairs. There’s no lift, though. We had one or two mosquitoes, but got rid of them without any trouble. I’d stay here again. The area isn’t central, and it’s not an affluent part of town. It takes about 15-20 minutes to walk to some nice restaurants, or you can get there by tuk-tuk. Staying here let us see more of everyday Cambodia outside the relative glitz of the centre. We had one of the cheaper AC rooms in Phnom Penh for a few nights. It was fairly clean and had enough space for our things, plus a desk and chair. There was a TV, but no fridge or kettle. The bed was soft, the shower pressure was good, and the AC worked well. The water never got very hot, but that wasn’t a problem with 35C outside.

The owner and his family were very pleasant, and I still remember the chats we had. The owner also helped me figure out how to get around the city. I stayed here seven years ago, and it was my favourite place from all my travels around Asia. It took me a long time to write this review, but I wanted to because the stay was so good. The gates close at night, so be sure to let them know if you’ll be back late. After a certain time, the place looks like an ordinary home. I’ll be back, I promise!

The owner was friendly and gave us a few recommendations for our trip. We stayed two nights, and our room was clean and had AC. It was a pretty nice stay.
