Go In Hotel

We spent two nights at Go In Hotel, and the room was quiet and comfortable. The balcony had an amazing city view unlike any other. It also made it easy to walk to good food, fun clubs, and plenty of friendly locals. The place has that classic historic luxury feel.

Pigeons were stomping around on the ceiling and cooing all night. At 5am I went to reception to ask for another room because they were making so much noise. The receptionist and his friend said the problem was solved and I should go back and rest, but it kept going. The hotel couldn’t be bothered to sort it out. This place should be called Pigeon Hotel, watch the video for evidence and more info. Don’t stay here unless you want a night of pigeon hell. Beware of Pigeon Go In Hotel. 😡

The room was clean, the hot water was great, and having a small balcony was fun. It was really hard to communicate with most of the employees because their English was pretty limited. Laundry cost 5 USD, much more than the roughly 1-2 USD charged at local laundries. I’d rate the place better if it were listed as a 2-star hotel instead of 3-star.

We’ve stayed here a few times and do like the hotel, but getting a good night’s sleep has been a problem more than once. The air conditioners sometimes aren’t serviced or fixed and basically don’t work, which is rough in Phnom Penh’s intense heat. Sleep is the main thing for us, and management seems pretty much nonexistent when it comes to overseeing these issues. The service is sufficient, though nobody speaks English, and they will fix things if you ask. Some rooms also had hot water that didn’t work properly, so we had to switch rooms. There are some nice, helpful boys on staff. Apart from those problems, everything else is fine.
