The night market was ideally located for us, and breakfast was an excellent way to start the day. Great value for money, too. When our WiFi wouldn’t connect, the staff got it sorted straight away. Excellent service.

[Dec 2024] We found the price good for what we got. The river view was nice, the room was a typical size for two, the bed was comfortable, and it stayed quiet at night. Staff were helpful and friendly, and there’s a mini supermarket downstairs for essentials. Breakfast came with drinks and was a filling, delicious à la carte meal. We did find a few small cockroaches when we checked in and had to kill them. That definitely needs improvement, so I’ve taken off a star.

The balcony looked out over a beautiful river view, and the location was superb. At night the road is closed to traffic, so it’s easy to walk among the crowd and take in everything along the road and river. For a budget traveler or backpacker who’s comfortable with a little less, this could be a pleasant surprise depending on the deal. Expecting luxury could leave you disappointed. Our room was spacious and in good condition, though it wasn’t new. The beds were comfortable enough, but the pillows were absurdly huge, so sleeping on some of our own clothes worked better. There were a few bugs, perhaps because of the balcony, but we saw no signs of bed bugs and didn’t encounter any, which mattered most to us. We compared a lot of places and stayed one night before heading to another city. The staff were nice. They’d confirmed a non-smoking room in advance, but the first room smelled like someone had just smoked a pack of cigarettes in it. We switched rooms and the next one smelled the same, with lots of air freshener over it. I guess plenty of guests smoke in their rooms, and reading between the lines, the staff seem used to people asking to switch. I’d still recommend it.

Good value for money, with a good location and river view. My room happened to be clean and free of cockroaches, I guess I was lucky. The daily cleaning was very good, and the hotel and supermarket staff were courteous and helpful. Manager Erich was especially helpful. PP also has some great restts and craft beer microbreweries.
