Malis the Residence & Hotel

I’ve been living here for almost a year, and it’s a nice place to stay. The rooftop is exceptional for watching the sunset, and there’s parking. Security guards are always keeping an eye on the entrance. The staff are nice and helpful, and people in the building are really friendly. It’s a pleasure to talk with them. I recommend Malis Residence!

I wouldn’t recommend staying at Malis Residence. The location is awful, on a small street with no parking. The building’s elevator and staircases are always dirty, sometimes with liquid from garbage, and the pool isn’t always cleaned properly either. After a Chinese party on the rooftop near the pool, it was full of cigarette butts for the next few days. The WiFi and internet keep breaking, sometimes leaving us without internet for 2-3 days. They said they’d change the bedsheets every 1 month, but don’t do it unless you complain, and even once a month isn’t enough. Electricity use was too high for us, and they charge $0.30 per kilowatt instead of the $0.25 charged everywhere around. When we ended the rental contract, they asked us to pay $200 for a microwave that was never in the apartment. There was no microwave when we moved in, but they still charged for the missing old one when we left. A new microwave costs $50. It felt like a kind of scam.

A really convenient place for families visiting Phnom Penh, with a full kitchen and a huge rooftop pool. It feels like a hotel condo, and I’d recommend it to expats coming to the city.

Avoid this place. There’s basically no cleanliness or service.
