YK Art House

What I appreciated most was how the staff handled a difficult guest. During one stay, I saw a customer loudly complain about the air conditioning, slam the desk, and say the police wouldn't do anything about their behavior toward staff. The team stayed calm, respectful, and kind, and kept offering solutions. That patience and dedication deserve recognition. Some people inSEA and Cambodia give everything and more, and I hope we can be grateful for that. I highly recommend YK Art House and would gladly return. I've stayed here several times in different rooms. They were all very clean, well maintained, and had air conditioning, fans, and no unpleasant smells. In Cambodia's heat, powerful air conditioning or cold drinks can be hard to come by. I've stayed in dozens of hotels, homestays, and guesthouses across Southeast Asia, including many in Cambodia with air conditioning, and it has almost never been perfect. That's completely normal. YK itself is beautiful, with a bar that has 4-5 good craft beer options, a big library space, many kinds of trees, and quiet places to relax or work. The location is convenient, and all my rooms were quiet. A cat might meow at night, but I'm a light sleeper and it didn't bother me.

The restaurant space was cozy, and everything we had for breakfast was great. The hotel was pet friendly, which was a big plus since we were travelling with our dog. We had a great stay as a family. Staff were very friendly and helpful, and our room was spotless and well furnished.

I especially liked meeting local residents and getting to attend the art gallery opening. YK Art felt like an oasis in the city. The rooms were pristine, with luxurious toiletries, and there was a vegan restaurant and library books for relaxing. It's beside the Buddhist university, near the river and the big Aeon mall, which made the location very convenient. All the staff were lovely and made the stay so enjoyable. I wish I'd had more time to use the pool.

The place itself is really nice, with a cozy library, cats wandering around, lots of trees, and a pleasant setting. The rooms were generally well maintained, with a cute teapot and tasteful style. It's close to one of the best malls I've seen. Go to the food court after 8pm, you'll thank me later. The city center and palace aren't far either. Still, our stay didn't go as expected. We paid for a pool but couldn't swim, and under 40° that was one of the main reasons we chose this place. There were quite a lot of ants, the shower water wasn't really hot, and noise was constant: construction next door from 7am, then loud music and dogs barking during the night. We barely slept. The room we had had almost no sound insulation and the WiFi was poor. I don't know if all the rooms are like that. It's a shame, and I don't want to give fewer stars because maybe the place is still a work in progress, but these things really need attention.
