Cambana Poipet Hotel

The friendly staff and nice lobby were the bright spots. We had a bed, but our family room, listed on the hotel website at 170 USD a night, didn’t come close to feeling worth the price. The low ceiling made it hard for my husband to walk comfortably, given his European size, and the room was dusty and dirty enough that our feet turned black when we went barefoot. There were so many mosquitoes that we all got bitten repeatedly and ended up sleeping in our jackets. Noise was another big problem. We could hear the room above us very loudly, and the thin walls and non-soundproof windows let in every sound outside, including dogs barking all night and drunken people shouting at the pub next door. This really wasn’t suitable for children. We felt badly let down and wouldn’t recommend it to families. I have photos of everything I mentioned, but don’t want to post them. The hotel’s central spot made it easy to get around, and our 4-day, 3-night stay was enjoyable. The staff were great, breakfast was included, and the room had enough space for three people. I felt completely safe there, no haunted vibes at all. The bathroom was roomy too, with a nice bathtub, and the strong, cold AC was welcome after a day out. Food prices felt a little high for the province, with most dishes starting at $4. Still, I’d recommend Cambana Poipet Hotel for the comfort, service, and location. I’d rate it 8/10.

That pub right next door plays music so loudly you may be up until it stops. When we stayed on Saturday, it wasn’t over until around 3am. A shame, because the rooms are clean and modern, the beds are comfy, and the hotel is otherwise nice.

The restaurant was fair, and the floors could use a better clean. The rooms are spacious and well equipped, and the location is excellent, close to the main parts of town. The AC gets a bit noisy, but turning it to a lower speed helps.
