The location worked well, central but just outside the busy area, so it was quiet and relaxed. There were some good cafes and food nearby. That's about the only upside. We meant to stay two nights but left early the first morning. The place is very run down, with webs in every corner and dirty floors. Our floor had hair and dust all over it. The AC didn't work, and when we came back at night the room was somehow 10 degrees warmer than outdoors. It was probably the worst night's sleep of our trip, since it was so hot and the fan they gave us just pushed the warm air around. The owner who was around reception acted strangely when we arrived, seeming angry or aggressive. We couldn't work out what he wanted beyond the room price. He spoke no English and couldn't understand Khmer when we tried Google Translate, so communicating was impossible. It is the cheapest guesthouse in town, though the experience was pretty poor.

It seems like this used to be a nice place, but it's quite run down now. I paid $7 because every other guesthouse I could find charged at least $15 a night. The WiFi didn't reach the rooms, which wasn't ideal. It's family-run, and they do have a lot of cute kids.

For $7 a night for two people, you get a big room with hot water and a fan, plus a balcony. Shampoo, soap, and toothbrushes were there too. The Kmer in the house were very kind and always had a big smile. Cheap and good, what more do you need? Highly recommended if you're on a small budget and still want a nice stay.

A nice guy introduced himself as a Sikh, married to a Buddhist wife with Indian ties. He even sent his nephew to buy me a street cola. But he asked me five times what I was doing there. Is there some Indian cross-border ideology at play, or am I missing something strange in this, the 40th town I've visited in Cambodia?

I wouldn't recommend this place. The host wasn't nice and seemed to want my money by any means she could. Avoid it!
