After a 10-hour bus ride from Bangkok, all I wanted was to rest, but my first impression wasn't good. Our tuk tuk driver asked for $5 for a ride that was supposedly free from the bus station. The receptionist didn't help with that and seemed focused only on getting our payment. They asked if we could pay right then, but took cash only, no credit cards. The staff didn't feel friendly, and the hotel is far from the tourist center. I left the next day and was much happier at Kao San Road.

For $20, the room was comfortable and good value. Breakfast was just bread, egg, jam, and butter, and they don't serve lunch or dinner. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Pub Street is a few minutes' walk away. I'd suggest this hotel for a short stay or for backpackers, as it's worth the price.
