Green Amazon Hotel

The food was the best part for me. Both the Khmer and Western options were so good, including salad, omelet and toasted bread. Our three-bed room was quiet and clean, with a nice bathroom and a lovely aroma, though it didn’t have a backyard view. Service was great and everyone was friendly, always with a smile. We had a pleasant stay at Green Amazon, and the breakfast was wonderful. The rooms were spacious enough for us. Mr. Paul looked after all our needs with a pleasant attitude, and the reception and restaurant staff were very helpful too.

The pool and staff were generally nice, and the place itself was pleasant, but the extra electricity charge became a real problem. We had booked and paid ahead for a month, and the listing never mentioned that electricity would cost extra. After arrival, the hotel said we had to pay; the Airbnb host and support said we didn’t. The hotel helped sort it out, so we thought the matter was settled, but after we checked out early they tried to charge us again. I explained it to the manager and, after we’d given them a whole week to rent the apartment early, he finally dropped it. The hotel shouldn’t add charges guests weren’t told to expect. There were practical annoyances too. The bedroom is upstairs, reached by unusually steep 12-inch-rise stairs, which made climbing difficult. The bathroom sink is outside the bathroom, and there was no drying rack for either hands or clothes, even though there’s a washing machine. We had to ask for a rack, which could only fit inside the bathroom, so you wash your hands outside and walk in to dry them. There were very few dishes, just one bowl, no hand towels, and no filtered water. It’s also a trek into town, since the place is way out by the circus.

There were 11 of us, and by the end the staff knew all our names. Mr Vannak, the manager, was especially attentive and helped with anything I needed. Mr Paul and Mr Thient were also very helpful and gave us great customer service. Our rooms were spotless, with daily cleaning, and the service was fantastic. Nothing felt like too much trouble. I had an amazing stay at the Green Amazon residence.
