Palm Village Resort & Spa

After the Angkor wat half marathon, I chose to spend time here instead of going into Siam Reap because it was so peaceful. The grounds are a leafy little oasis, with carefully arranged plants and trees that feel like wild nature outside your window. I've paid 300 dollars for resorts with greenery laid out just as nicely. The pool is lovely too. The huts and rooms may not have the most luxurious build quality, but for the price this is an absolute gem. I also loved the simple, local food. I kept ordering the sweet steamed rice with bananas (or pumpkin), wrapped in banana leaves. See photos. So so recommend it. It's convenient for Angkor Wat, which is why I picked it, but there aren't many restaurants or much nightlife nearby.

We chose a bamboo house and found it clean, comfortable, and lovely. The other room options looked great too. The garden and cute swimming pool were both lovely spots to enjoy delicious meals, and the kitchen served breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Staff were friendly and helpful, arranged a reasonably priced motorbike rental, and provided safe parking. The resort is peaceful, relaxing, and beautiful, between Angkor Wat and downtown Siem Reap. We're really pleased we stayed here, and I'd definitely come back if I'm in the area again.

If you're easy going, peaceful, and like to chill and party, this is a good place. The people are nice and the vibe is good, and the food is tasty with big portions. Prices are a bit high, though it's nice that people who want to save money can volunteer. There is still a lot to improve with the bungalows. Mosquitos and sand flies were a real problem, even though I wore long clothes and used repellent and after-bite treatment. I got bitten a lot. The electric generator was really noisy, which was a bad point. I hope that's not normal, and they should fix the exhaust pipe, move it farther away, and build an insulated box around it.

It's an oasis in a sandy neighbourhood, with a good, clean swimming pool. The kitchen won't earn a Michelin star. A standard bike is available to rent for 3 usd a day, and it was well maintained. They mention yoga lessons in their promotion, but none were available.
